The Circle Continues pairs David Marks with poet-lyricist, Stephen Kalinich, on a musical journey that weaves David’s knack for interesting chord progressions & lush, layered guitar-work with Stevie’s uniquely inspiring lyrical colorings. Both artists are out-of the-box performers and their partnership reflects their multifaceted talents.The collaboration began with Anytime USA - an upbeat, surfy rocker written in freeway traffic during the 2006 Beach Boys Landmark Dedication weekend. The pair’s next song Johnny, is a percussion-heavy swamp-jazz song about a wayward soul...the remaining 10 songs cover the span between the two varied genres and moods touching on influences ranging from Rock, Jazz, Flamenco, Avant Garde Classical, Psych-Pop, Adult Contemporary to Spoken Word.
The Circle Continues features David Marks on 10 lead vocals, guitars, piano, bass, percussion, mandolin and cello while two songs feature lead spoken word recitations by Stephen Kalinich.
